No. 42 THE PRACTICE
Centered here in the Jewellry Quarter we are part of the exciting new life in Birmingham which involves attractive city apartments and lofts ‘ rebirthed’ from traditional workshops and factories, some of which date back to the Victorian era . Many of these buildings also are home to studios, coffee shops, trendy pubs and restaurants. Within the district craftsman still work amongst newer emerging professions such as IT and there are many young artists and performers located here . This is the perfect working environment for our work which we consider to be CREATIVE and ARTISTIC as well as being much EVIDENCE based as possible.
Location: LONDON .
In Docklands London we are professionally hosted by Docklands Osteopathy Clinic in Canary Wharf , here we provide our specialised brand of Osteopathy which has been successsful for International performers and Athletes alike . We integrate a combination of treatments and advice provided within this osteopathic platform for the promotion of self- led wellness .
Our assessments aim to be as comprehensive as possible, we use the standard Osteopathic Test which is based on joint position , mobility from a static stance and symmetry with some specific emphasis on spinal position. Additionally we use Orthopedic/Medical testing especially when trying to identify a problem through resistance, provokation ,instability or paralysis. Beyond these standard tests we also utilise special testing of the Lymphatic system , Nutritional and Quality of Life Tools , Detailed Gait Analysis, and our own developed ‘Mobility Test’ . All thees give us a snapshot of function in the body which can lead us to the root of the problem.
As well as General Osteopathy , which has proven effectiveness for LOW BACK PAIN. We also have special interests and Clinics in NECK PAIN, SCIATICA, TRAPPED NERVES , RUNNING, SPORTS INJURIES, DANCE INJURIES, PERFORMANCE RELATED INJURIES and SUPPORT , STRESS and SLEEP. We have developed specialisation which you will probably not find anywhere in the West Midlands. We specialise in ‘myofascial release’ used in conjunction with Osteopathy , we have found this to be particularly helpful in sports injuries, Fibromyalgia and RSI . France Quirin has undergone post graduate experience in work related injuries . Additionally our experience in treating ME/CFS is around 12 years , using THE PERRIN TECHNIQUE and other supportive therapies.
Over the years we have become very experienced and appropriately qualified in the treatment of Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia and provide support and treatment within the following protocols for treatment:
Perrin Technique – Lymphatic drainage , the toxic burden is usually a relevant factor in the the treatment of this condition. We have provided this technique for the last 10 years.
Nutrition therapy – Chronic Fatigue can be related to poor digestion and absorbtion in the gut , cellular malnutrition and damage , glucose intolerance and adrenal overload . We have relevant experience in this area and have contiuing advice and support from ‘Nutri’ a nutrition company that is known internationally for high standards of quality and research. We provide a basic nutrition support package which is based on decreasing inflammation, increasing gut health and Clinical Weight Loss
Pyschological support – Pyschological support combined with nutritional therapy has been proved to be effective and was the result of a recent study published in the Lancet . France Quirin is trained in the application of EFT and we are able to outsource excellent supportive therapy.
Nice Guidelines – Nice Guidelines describes ME/CFS as a real physical ‘disease’ this has always been our perspective, the treatment advised by NICE is as follows :
Amytriptilline in low dose application
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
We agree that the above was the result of substantial research however the ME/CFS Community has not wholly welcomed this approach. We seek not to condem the NHS approach but move towards its application from a practical point of view by helping the clients move on gradually , we are of the opinion that they are not able to utilise this kind of treatment effectively until the body and mind are ready , we help towards this goal.
