Philosophy

Our Philosophy is to use a natural administration coupled with evidence based approach in the treatment of the musculoskeletal system; embracing up to date information and training. We respect confidentiality and individuality and practice communication skills based on listening. We maintain comittment to the patient at all times. Through our philosophy we deliver treatment that promotes self care, thus ensuring maintenance of the 'change'. Indeed our approach has been justified through published research which highlights the effectiveness of programs which are empower the client with 'self' directed care as well as an early return to normal activity, as opposed to 'over-intervention'.
Osteopathy is not just for back pain/neck pain, but osteopaths can treat other musculoskeletal injuries caused by work or leisure. For example tennis elbow, sprained ankles,RSI or frozen shoulder.
At spinalsolutions we have a specilaist interest in ME/Chronic Fatigue and have treated many patients successfully over the last few years. It is a comprehensive treatment which attempts to use natural interventions, we also take into consideration the cients financial situation which may be grossly affected by long term sickness. Much of the Osteopathic work utilises the 'Perrin Technique', this is a specialist treatment which was researched and founded by Dr Raymond Perrin (follow the link to his clinic), his book on the subject has been a previous Amazon best seller. However other components are needed ie nutritional intervention, rehabilitation, psychotherapy or even access to NHS services. We endeavour to use as much cross-referral as necessary and have access to Physiotherapists, Acupuncturists and Counsellors at our various sites as the need dictates. Additionally we have built links with Ashok Gupta (Gupta Method), Alex Howard (91 Day Programme) , Reverse Therapists, Nutrionists - known methods of recovery for ME see chronic fatigue help.spinalsolutions.org.uk
We always try and adhere to our philosophy which helps us direct treatment towards self care. As much as possible we develop and maintain an open relationship with the clients, GP who remains primary care provider , in addition to any Specialist Consultation with the NHS.
