Over the last 10 years I have treated patients with ME/CFS in that time we have approached this from many areas,initially I treated using mainly a structural approach , then a cranial approach and then The Perrin technique which is a method of detoxifying the central nervous system, some research has been completed already however it is is currently in trial to see if the diagnostic methods used can be used accurately in an NHS setting.
It is a method designed for clients with ME/CFS however some of the principles of body massage/body brushing, contrast bathing and local lymphatic release can be applied to any client from our modern society. Basically we live in an environment that has many toxic agents present both exogenous and endogenous. We are fortunate indeed to live in a modern technological society however ,it has been built on and continues to be built using products that have immediate and lasting toxicity even if this is not currently tangible or observable.
I would add to the above by advising around 2 litres per day, water is a simple but effective detoxifier. Also make sure bowels are open daily ,and that you get a good sweat every week through exercise or steam room etc. This is our simplified detoxification at spinalsolutions . It is only basic advice, our decision to present this simplified version comes from a need to make it as accessible as possible across income strata and those who may otherwise think that detoxification is an extravagance and not a neccessity. Our basic advice is as follows: drink lots of water, when you visit us we expect you to drink 1 cup of water on the way in to your appointment and 1 cup on the way out, we are close to the loo!!!
